Hovenweep National Monument is located in the State of Utah in the United States. Once home to over two thousand five hundred people, the monument contains six prehistoric villages built between AD twelve hundred and thirteen hundred. The construction and attention to detail is a true marvel and a testament to the skill and motivation of the builders. The largest of the six units of ruins is Square Tower, where several well-preserved structures are located. The ruins are filled castles, towers, check dams (for irrigation), cliff dwellings, pueblos and houses.
