This little volume, a children's book, is just filled with good information and is a wonderful work to read to a class as it gives much to talk about and can lead to some wonderful discussion. I like this type of book when reading to the young ones. I causes them to think, gives them a chance to tell thier own stories, and, just as importantly, causes me to think as I have to come up with valid answers. This work tells of the history of domestic housing, from the past, and yes, into the future. It addresses not only the physical dwellings of people from around the world, and of different times and ages, but also their life style. How did the folk that came before us live, work, play, eat, sleep, etc. etc. This is good stuff folks. The art work in this small volume is very good, actually falling into the area of beautiful. The illustrations are quite detailed and go perfectly will a well written and informative text. This one has been around for a few years, first being published in 1994 (which come to think of it, makes it about fourteen years old...my how time flits away. It is well worth owning and adding to your library though. It, like a lot of our books that are getting on in years, need to be kept around so that they are not lost. Highly recommend this one.
