Thankfully, this is one cookbook still in my collection as I seek to downsize. It is a great basic cookbook, with lots of easy to make recipes for the novice and veteran cook. Furthermore, in the more than twenty years I have used it, I have not found a bad recipe. (I met Deanna House more than twenty years ago and count her gift a treasured one.) Many of the recipes became family favorites and are still remembered and asked for. After years of giving it as a wedding and/or shower gift, I exhaused my supply of family and friends who needed a copy. Now, a new generation is encouraging me to reconsider. You won't go wrong with this book or with the recipes you seek to create.
Great yet simple things to cook!

I received this cookbook as a wedding present eleven years ago. It was one of the best presents we got. The recipes in the book are tried and true and great for our family. Kid-loved, Mom-approved, and easy too! I have had other cookbooks that just can't compare. The recipes here are comprised of things you already have in your kitchen; which is great when you're starting to cook dinner at 4:45pm! Great, great, great!
