Carl Sutton is a twenty-six year old confirmed bachelor who finds himself a newly ordained, albeit reluctant, Catholic priest in a small town parish. On his second day on the job, he receives a letter from the bishop saying the church is scheduled to be closed due to financial cutbacks. Fortunately, it's the week of the county fair where the church's biggest fundraisers of the year happen.
