Hi, I'm Abby Foster, formerly a retired accountant, now general manager and CFO of Alberta's Grizzly Gulch Guest Ranch. My two sisters and I inherited the place at an age when most sensible women contemplate retirement.No one ever called us sensible.

Facing financial ruin due to renovation cost overruns, we scramble to host a week-long horse breeding symposium intended to increase our popularity and attract more guests. Hours into the symposium, a cowboy's sudden death appears accidental to everyone, including the Mounties, except me.

Smelling a murder, I convince my sisters and our hot barn manager to help me conduct a covert investigation without alerting the guests. Problem is, our quirky guests are the main suspects.

Chaos ensues when we tangle with one seriously amorous gelding (yes, it happens), a runaway stud of the equine variety, dwarf goats during an unfortunate goat yoga episode, a spitting llama, and an uncooperative stallion. A later-in--life romance ups the ante for me, while drugs and deceit increase the danger for everyone.

With laugh-out-loud comedy, loads of hilarious action and some of the coolest characters ever written, this book really does have it all. The story grabbed me from the very first page and moved at a quick but steady pace all the way through. The characters are simply marvelous; very relatable, fun, quirky, and, more importantly, likable and real. With so many suspects, it was hard to figure out whodunnit and the story just keeps you guessing all the way through. A fabulous story, a fun adventure with a little bit of senior romance to sweeten the deal, and plenty of laughs along the way. Highly recommended read.
