This book illustrates how to recognize and use hope focused narratives and stories to elevate organization effectiveness. How we hope and what we hope for has a substantial impact on how we feel, behave, perform, and thrive. The next several chapters develop a case for individual and organization hope as a sustainable competitive advantage. The illustration is based on the premise that hope is more than an ethereal feeling and is more than wishful optimism. Using empirically supported and workplace proven theory, I show that hope can be construed as a narrative lens through which experience, in and out of the workplace, is mentally captured and interpreted, resulting in an appreciative and affirmative orientation to the future.
