WOW!

I picked this book up on 8/3/08 and finished it on 8/4/08! I read it as I sat in our hotel room during a needed vacation. The reality in these pages lets one know that The Hope is real, and that you can rest in Him like your favorite Comforter. Two days after reading it, I stood on the shore of the ocean and witnessed the awesome power of "Hanna" as it was striking the coast. I realized, with just one word, we have the power to calm the storm! That word, HOPE. Thanks Dave for clearing off the sidewalk of Hope that my "K" and I walk on! Loved it, needed it, and really recommend it. -kep

Once you pick this book up you cannot put it down. I read it in one sitting. It is a must read for anyone going through a dark time in their life. The author shows you, how even in the darkest hour, if you call on His name He is there beside you. He never leaves nor forsakes you. It gave me comfort, encouragement, and peace to read this book. It is a book I will read over, and over again, especially when I am walking in a dark hour.

Dave Hess writes a true, uninhibited and inspiring account of his battle with cancer. It is not only his story, but also the story of his family and his church that loves their pastor and friend. This book is a must read for anyone who is facing a life threatening illness, as well as anyone going through the stormy trials that life can bring. It will fill you afresh with hope, faith and courage!

I loved this book!

I read the book in one sitting. Dave's openness and honesty about his journey through the valley of cancer was fascinating. I told my wife a few excerpts from the story and found myself in tears--it's a touching story. Dave's vulnerability and faith in the Lord Jesus is inspiring. His experience of healing is something he wants others to experience. Anyone who is facing cancer or any life threatening illness should read this book.

Hope Beyond Reason

I have to admit that I have not yet read the book but hope to get it tonight. However let me say that I know Pastor Dave Hess personally and have known him for years. He was my pastor at the time that he was diagnosed with leukemia in 1997 and I know his story well. Pastor Dave is a wonderful man and speaker. I am SURE that this book will be inspiring as I have seen how he has inspired many others. He is a man with vision and a faith that can move a mountain. I knew that when the doctors where telling him that he would NOT live and there was NO hope - he did not believe that and neither did his congregation. We all knew that God was not done with him yet. I am sure that you will be blessed by what he shares.I will share my thoughts once I have read it.
