Adorable Story, Gorgeous Illustrations

This book isn't just a children's book--it's a keepsake. The author/illustrator is now one of my very favorites, along with Alison Jay, Nancy Tillman, Nicoletta Ceccoli, Kit Williams, and Gennady Spirin. Definitely go to the author's website at www.jerilanders.com and take a look at her second book "The Journey of Bushky Bushybottom." As a person who is the equivalent of a Cat Lady but with a love for rabbits instead, I really appreciate the way Jeri Landers draws them. In one picture Jack is lying on his side with his hind legs kicked out, just like my house rabbits would do. Usually children's books are far less detailed and depict rabbits in more of a cartoonish manner. For so many reasons, this is now one of my all-time favorite books. The story is adorable and the pictures are extraordinary.

What a Treasure!

I cannot say enough about this beautiful book. The fact that the illustrations are full of incredible and charming detail with beautiful colors makes it a book which can be enjoyed by children of any age.... not to mention adults. The story itself is about a little rabbit with so many brothers and sisters that he simply feels lost in the crowd. All he wants is to feel special and unique. And he comes up with some pretty creative ideas to be different from the other bunnies. The only problem is that his wonderful ideas are copied by his siblings and then all the bunnies are the same again! Sound like a grade school peer group? Well, in his journey to become a special little guy he discovers that he already is a special little guy..... and in fact that "all bunnies are special in their own way" A great lesson for one and all packaged in a large and beautiful keepsake book. This is the kind of book you pass on to the next generation. We love it!

I give this charming book 5 out of 5 carrots for the engaging characters, inspiring story, and wondrous illustrations. Each illustration is a work of art! This enchanting book transports the reader to places normally only bunnies get to see. This is truly a book that parents and children alike will treasure, and what fun it is to search each page for a hidden blue bunny!

An Excellent Book For All Ages

I thoroughly enjoyed this work by artist Jeri Landers. The illustrations are magnificent - the detail of each page is meticulous and vibrant. You can tell that the author has poured herself into each drawing. You could spend all day looking at each individual picture and still miss something. The story is well done and written in a way that appeals to both adults and children. It is really a masterpiece of a childrens book in a time when all too many are written with more emphasis on making a quick buck than telling a decent story or providing a piece of art. I have purchased a number of these books as gifts and look forward to the next.

Beautiful Book to share with your family

I love this book. The art is magical, makes you feel like you are in the Hollow with Jack and the Blue Bunnies. I have bought several and plan to give it to all New Mothers and New Grandmothers - its a must have. I have seen the new Northcott Quiltshop Fabric and have to buy it. This book ranks with Childrens Classics - highly recommend.
