GOOD READ

Excellent book I read it in three days! A must read for those who've never read anything by Noire.

"An Emotional Rollercoaster for Hood"

If I have to say so, I think this is one of the best books of the year!!! Noire has definitely stepped up her game with "Hood". This book was so very powerful, it elicits so many emotions. From the beginning of the story, it pulls at your heartstrings with the two homeless brothers thrust out in freezing cold with no one to turn to, no one to care but eachother, and 'Hood' is a soldier from beginning to end. WOW!!!! He takes every situation that he is dealt with like a old soul, he may get shaken but he never bows down. Noire introduces so many characters with that neighborhood 'ghetto shine' that all have get money mentalities and are all awaiting anxiously for the next one to slip up so that they can swarm in like vultures. Hood finds love with his hero, Fat Daddy's daughter, Egypt. Egypt is all that, as long as she's shielded from the reality of the cruel world. There's the white trash of the neighborhood, Sackie and his weak sister, Zena, that are attached to Hood and Egypt. Then there's the darkchild, Dreko, that evil lurks within him from sunrise to sunset. These characters are all living in the ghettofabulosity of the streets. Join in this amazing ride as Noire unfolds this drama-filled, emotional, sensational story of life with all of its hard knocks that evolve with murder, drugs, death, and see who has the heart to go to hell and overcome all its hellacious endeavors. Noire deserves more than 5***** for this one!!! I take my hat off and give you major KUDO's!!! Wow!! Simply amazing!!! Riveting, captivating, page-turning, heart-stopping, reading!!!!

Noire does it again!

"Hood" was a great book! I was hooked from page one. Noire did her thing, I always know when I get a Noire book it's gonna be a sure nuf page turner! Lamont aka Hood never had an easy life, he started out on his own at age 11 trying to take care if his baby brother Moo on the cold streets of Brooklyn. Their mom Marjay is a crackhead who leaves them to fend for themselves. Hood grows up and gets involves in the street life 100%. Hood's life is never easy and the people he loves most always seem to hurt him or leave him. This story had me hooked and the parts about Moo had me in tears literally, I could feel the pain and hurt. I also felt bad for Zena, and her baby Dreka. This is a must read Noire does not dissapoint!!

Noire's best....

I have read all of Noire's novels and for the most part have liked them all. However, I feel that Hood is by far the best one. I just seemed to connect so much with the characters and could feel their desparation, pain, and struggles. I also appreciate the message of the importance of getting tested for HIV.

this book had me in tears
