Honor thy father is one of the Ten Commandments. Most religions wave this commandment in all around faces as if our lives depended on it. Even people without a religious belief are indoctrinated, with this edict. Honor thy father, or else This idea expands, beyond our biological fathers to all 'authority figures', 'perceived' or 'real'.
