Honey Bees: The Absolute Guide To honey bee keeping

This is our first year keeping honey bees as a hobby. For various reasons, it didn't work out until this spring, but I've been wanting to do this for a while now. It wasn't hard as all, and now we have a thriving hive colony of honey bees. I knew the bees would be helpful to our homesteading endeavors, but my family wasn't as convinced. I was going to start beekeeping, and when I found out that my neighbor was considering doing the same thing, we agreed to split the cost of the first hive. Now I'm going to tell you all you need to know to get your own honey bee farm going.

Apiculture refers to the science and art of beekeeping. Apiarist is another term for the beekeeper, while the term "apiary" describes the complete structure in which the bees are kept. Raw honey, beeswax, and royal jelly are all highly sought after by consumers, and beekeeping has become more fashionable in recent years.
