Necessary reading-a MUST own!!

As a member, ordained minister, and gay man in the Community of Christ, "Homosexual Saints: the Community of Christ Experience" is an invaluable book for the continued dialogue on the important issue of acceptance. As someone who knows Bill Russell personally, I know how passionate he is about this work and it comes through in his 50 page chronology of the history of homosexuality in the Community of Christ. This introduction gives wonderful background on where the church has been and the foundation for the stories to follow. From the introduction, the book moves into the "heart" of the issue. Regardless of where members and friends of the church stand, it is the sharing of stories that brings understanding and better insight into an issue that has been such a divisive one for the church and world at large. These are stories of alienation, hope, fear, courage, acceptance, and love from members, former members, their friends and family. If you are looking for a book that is going to grab you and take you on a journey of powerful transformation, "Homosexual Saints: the Community of Christ Experience" is what you're looking for.
