Video game elements meet global invasion

I originally got this book simply out of curiosity and found myself in love with the characters and the story so quickly that I bought the second and third as soon as possible. The story has action, drama, death, and violence. The characters within feel grounded and the world that is being built is done so in a careful way so that the reader doesn't feel overwhelmed.
