Time is like a vapor. It's the one commodity we can never reproduce or get a refill on. There are no do-overs in life, and despite our desire for more, once time is gone, it's not coming back. It's been nearly six years since I last volunteered at the homeless shelter downtown, such a long time ago. And what began as a church outreach, turned into a 3 year stretch of meeting people, and listening to their stories, as I dished out goulash and tater tots. I've always had a calling to tell a story, but not my own. Every homeless drifter has one, each one different from the last. And each story, with its beginning and ending, is filled with a life, that had somehow began spinning in the wrong direction. These are the forgotten drifters, that have existed unnoticed year after year. Each one has a story. Each one has a name.
