InIn some ways better than the Fixer Upper T.V. program. some ways better than the Fixer Upper T.V.

This book has an equal amount of what is included in what is not included; therefore, not everyone will be enamored of what looks like a great coffee table book. Of course, it is a Catch-22 book in the sense that you need to buy the book to find out what coffee table you’re going to put the book on. The first glaringly missing room on the contents list of rooms in this book is the library. After you get about 300 pages into the book, there is one picture of a built-in library wall. The book is interspersed with shelving that has obscure books as decorations. I may have some problems with squeezing my 10,000+ books into one of her schemes or themes. Maybe she can produce a book on home libraries? Periodically, there is a craft room, which again is more designed for contemporary kitsch crafts, bypassing such crafts as looms and spinning. We know that Joanna Gaines has more kinds of animals than you can imagine. So why not create places to put cat depository boxes and scratch poles? My cats eat out of Fiesta ware. We know that hardwood floors look spiffy, but will they hold up to hairballs? For better or worse, the book does not take the time to tell of the sources of most of the decor. So, it is more of a suggestion book than a catalog. Do not forget to look at the parts of the book that make this a book, such as an index that will help you locate things that you didn’t notice when you were just skimming through. Also, be sure to look at the Acknowledgments and see where some of the ideas came from. There is a Homebody Design Template to help you design what you want your house to look like in the context of how the house is built. Be sure to slow down and read between the pictures.

OK not wonderful

It's OK if you want to celebrate Joanna Gaines, definitely a coffee table type book.
