This book tells a story about how difficult life can become from the adverse effects during childhood and adolescence. Bluhazy captures, at times poetically, an uneasy life of a boy going through a roller-coaster journey of emotions placed upon him by a set of haphazard scenarios and experiences in his youth.

As the story begins to develop, there seems to be a sense of hope within the child's family and, alongside his sister, he manages to keep positive. Reaching adolescence, you can see him navigate through life, but then he faces a traumatic turn and, on from then, you see how he attempts to understand life and the ways in which he can take part in it. Although, there are many problems. Adulthood, if only just begun, sees him continue to search for love in a world where he sees many unanswered questions and beliefs. Strength and perseverance are not something which stops after you finish a chapter.

This story has obstacles in the form of heartbreak, trust, unfavourable family relations and situations, schooling, mental health, homelessness, friendship, travel induced serenity between hard bouts of being alive and shows there is both cruelness and kindness in life.
