YOU CAN'T ALWAYS GET WANT YOU WANT Gary Carter's Iron mask by Robert Montgomery shows how you can't always get what you want but you can do good at what you have. In this book the main character Robbie Belmont tryouts for the Riverton Tigers varsity team. Robbie's dream was to play on the team as a pitcher but then Robbie's dream changes when he doesn't make the team as a pitcher. Now Robbie's just fighting for the starting position at catcher. When I first started playing baseball I wanted to play shortstop but there was someone better at that position so my coach started me at catcher. I didn't like playing there at first but as I got better the more I liked it and now its one of my favorite positions to play. I think that this is great for kids who like to play baseball or just like it. It taught me that I should try my best at the position that my coach wants me to play instead of getting angry because I don't get to play the position that I want to play.
