Home far away from Home: An Expatriate - Story

By Geertje Tutschka

Detroit? Never ever Just imagine: You pack your bags, take your two children with you, and follow your spouse to the other end of the world. You decide to do all of this in a few weeks. - Would you be so brave? - Of course, you're going to a civilized foreign country and everything is financially secure. It would also only be for a limited amount of time. - Sound tempting to you? - Oh, ahem, did I already mention that you're going to Detroit, the city that's been ranked number one in crimes for years? And has now officially declared bankruptcy? - Never ever? "Geertje Tutschka decided to tell the story of expatriation in Detroit - a city, that has faced his challenges, but is no verge of rebirth. But thanks to the translators Bloomfield Hills native M. Rowland and G. Gahman the letters are now available in English as well. All proceeds from the sales of the English e-version go to Detroit-based charity, "Stand Up For Kids", a nonprofit organization that helps homeless youth. The letters are well known among the German expatriate community in metro Detroit" The Oakland Press, May 22, 2014 Find the book in english and german at Facebook: https: //www.facebook.com/DetroitMichiganLoveLettersFromAnAlien/?fref=ts
