The edition that I am reviewing is the paperback printed in 1993. The title for this review is based on a fundamental theme(Isaiah 28:16,17) of this book. HOLY TO YAHVEH is a study in the Name of The Almighty and other related subjects. In page 15 the author states the object behind the book- "It is the author's humble intent to reveal, exalt, and restore the original and sacred names of YAHveh and YAHshua to their rightful place of preeminence within holy scriptures and the hearts of a holy remnant." Mrs.Seedman addresses the circumstances of the removal of the Name from Scripture. Scripture is referred to frequently throughout the book. Tanslational differences are discussed in some of the chapters. That is one of my favorite subjects, so I appreciated that info. She also details the drastic changes in Christianity in history as well as changes within rabbinical Judaism. On page 163 the author writes- "YAHshua has already fulfilled the first four holy feasts of Israel." She went on to write that many believe that the next fall festival, the Feast of Trumpets will be fulfilled with his return. On the removal and hiding of the Name she wrote on page 196- "the name of YAHveh was first hidden by Jewish leaders and later dissolved by Christian leaders." This book is a study of not only the Name, but the history of strife between Jews and Christians. She discusses the traditions of both. This book could be beneficial to Jew or Christian with no underlying motive such as conversion to either religion. Despite the age of this edition of the book (16 years), it is one of the more detailed books on the subject of the Creator's name. It also compares traditions with what is written in Scripture.
Holy to Yahveh

This book facilitates an intense study of things both spiritually and historically pertaining to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It strips away many of the confusions and false beliefs of our present age and bares the covenantal and eternal nature of Yahveh for all to see. I was personally challenged to consider the name by which I have always addressed my God, and the understanding of who He is outside the context of a culture that had previously failed me. I would highly recommend this book to both the Gentile and the Jew, as there is much to glean for any believer in Yahveh: the God of Israel. Be sure to have a bible with a good concordance available when studying, there are a number of places where context is critical to understand.
