From Materialism to Spiritual Awakening
I genuinely believed Christianity was a tool of British Colonialism in Nigeria to brainwash the Africans after witnessing regular church goers who lived like Satan, the Devil 6 days a week... Fast-forward to 2006, my born-again Mum came to visit in London, England, and I saw the spiritual transformation in her. She was logical and less emotional in comparison to her previous self then she introduced me to Jehovah Elohim and Jesus Christ. When she left, I began to ponder on her vivid testimonies, so I began to channel surf Sky TV channels for Christian channels then I stumbled across God TV and TBN. The Ministers on these channels got my full attention from day one. The more I listened the more at peace I was. Then late one night, as I was watching a Live Worship Broadcast on God TV spearheaded by Roy Fields. I experienced my first spiritual encounter - Holy Spirit Baptism which was a great surprise Why? Mother never mentioned the Holy Spirit nor the Ministers for my mind and heart were only on Jehovah Elohim and Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit makes true Christianity an intimate relationship with the Creator of this vast Universe. The effect of the Holy Spirit is more tangible and powerful than sex, drugs, and strong drinks COMBINED. My life has never been the same ever since...
I truly understand King David's plea,
Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me - Psalm 51:11.
I'm so ultra-glad the Spirit of God is not for sale in stark contrast to corner shop slogan, "We sell tobacco, alcohol and strong spirits." The wealthy would love to buy and resell Him just like Simon, the sorcerer's attempt followed by a strong rebuke by apostle Peter depicted in Acts 8:20. Holy Spirit is the evidence of the spiritual life experience or the Blessing in this life with eternal life in the afterlife. Mental health and emotional issues are the evidence of the spiritual death experience in this life or the Curse with eternal solitude from Jehovah Elohim in the afterlife.
Certain experiences in Life are indescribable, no vocabulary nor term would do such experience any justice, but I will nudge you in the right direction so let me introduce you to Jesus Christ in a simple and practical manner.
