Holy Moriah: A Kabalah

Moriah is a holy mountain in Jerusalem, known in Kabbalah as the navel through which divine effluence becomes physical form and matter. The disputed site of the ancient Temple, and today's El Aksa Mosque, Moriah is also the target of zealous attempts to catalyze the second coming of Christ and/or WWIII. Able, a gentle California farm boy becomes an unwitting pawn in such a battle involving entities divine and not-so-divine. Another Moriah, Able's sister, is a troubled young woman selling her body in Reno, NV. Like the mountain, Moriah is both a disputed physical territory, and a hidden conduit for the divine effluence. Either Moriah, mountain or woman, offers regeneration (or chaos) to a arid world. Around them a coalition of leftist protesters and religious fanatics struggle to capture this divine power for reasons political and/or eschatological. Revealed in this struggle are bizarre theologies, conspiracies, hidden histories, and startling revelations--a new kabalah for a suffering and glorious world.
