This devotional is not about pretending foster care is tidy, peaceful or orderly. It's about embracing the fact that foster care is the holy chaos God invites us into. It's the kind of chaos where one minute you're building a crib with missing screws, the next you're Googling "is hand-foot & mouth contagious" while on hold with your caseworker, and the next you're wondering if anything you are doing is even making a difference.

It's a front-row seat to both the brokenness of the world and the outrageous, redemptive grace of God. Here is the good news: He's not asking you to be perfect-He's asking you to show up, suit up (with the full armor of God, and possibly a gallon of coffee), and trust Him to do what only He can do.
