This is a 1963 edition. Other than slight aging and a name written in the inside cover, a very clean copy. It is a Confraternity edition which is a revision of the Challoner Douay Rheims version, translated from the Vulgate. It is a modern English translation. This filled the gap until translations from original languages became available in the 1970's eg, Jerusalem bible and New American. The Rev. Ronald Knox translation came out a few years before the Confraternity in Britain to meet the same purpose. It was replaced by the Confraternity. I study from different translations and appreciate the variations.
