The first book in a series about railroads and locomotives used by Hollywood in motion pictures and television shows. This volume covers the four locomotives from Nevada's Virginia & Truckee Railroad that were purchased by Hollywood studios between 1937 and 1947. Collectively, the were used in more than 150 motion pictures and television shows between 1937 and the present. Three of those locomotives are now at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City. The fourth is a prized possession of Old Tucson Studios in Arizona. While it no longer operates, it is still used as a background in motion pictures.
