A photo collection and not a plant identification key. There is a plant key on the author's website, fuzzydogvideo.com, mostly correct.Holly Shelter Wildlife Management Area is an 80,000 acre pocosin wilderness in southeastern North Carolina. It encompasses the broad wetlands of Holly Shelter itself, Bear Garden and Angola Bay. It is open for hunting in seasons on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. On non-hunting days, it is a naturalists wonderland. spring can be spectacular, autumn sublime.The author is an enthusiastic 'boy botanist' who is always delighted with the discovery of the day, even if it was the same as discovered the day before. Just how many photographs of the dwarf blue iris does anyone possibly need?
