"Hold on Kids" is the last book of the trilogy about author Beverley Clarkson's family. The vignettes are events occurring over time - from elementary, junior, senior high school, and college with the author and her brothers.

Many of the narratives could easily stand alone, like short stories. In the author's thinking, that is befitting. The stories are certainly not your everyday, common occurrence in the typical lives of children. Some are quirky, as kids try to make sense of the world, they live in. Others are tragic and left indelible routes in their life's journeys.

The author has also included the early years of her marriage, professional life as a teacher and school administrator, and family times with her brothers.

The foundations of those experiences were essential to the people they became, casting lifelong nettings of doubt and hope over their lives.
