Gives directions for both simple and advanced magic tricks and instructions for making the devices a magician uses that are not readily available around the house. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I've read all the magic (conjuring) performance books I could find through the library, and collected quite a few on my own. I've had Mark Wilson's Complete Magic Course (big hardcover, came with kit) and I highly recommend it. Later came the book for Dummies, and one for Idiots; they are also very good and they have lots of performance details and suggestions. Now, finding this old 1969 book gives me a new perspective. It doesn't little actual detailed performance directions, and only a few suggestions for patter. But what makes it valuable is the directions for making many performance gadgets. It shows how to make a prison for the Imprisoned Queen card trick, a rising card, a card changing box, a torn-and-restored card case, coin-in-silk, match-in-silk, Magic Box with large hidden compartment, collapsible Mystery Box with hidden bag, and a 'Servante' table with hidden drop-in pocket. And there's more gimmicks and ideas, too. Even a bare-bones pattern for making a stuffed rabbit to use with the Mystery Box. It's a fun and useful book. I wish it were still in print.
