On March 13, 1943, a small group of conspirators put a bomb on the plane that was transporting Adolf Hitler from the Russian Front to Germany, but the bomb failed to explode. But what would have happened if it did? The Allies never tried to kill Hitler because they felt he was making so many mistakes that if he was removed from power it would be much more difficult to defeat Germany. In Hitler is Dead we explore what the course of the war would be without Hitler at the helm making all the military decisions. The Germany military leaders arrest the conspirators to prevent a civil war between them and the Nazi Party. They then arrest certain Nazi leaders who supported them, and make a deal with the remaining Nazi leaders, appointing Goering Reich President, who agrees to end the genocidal race policies and give the military the authority to run the war. The result - a very different Second World War.
