This book traces the history of the Pagliero, Bettas Valet, and Nepote Brandolin families from the Piedmont of northern Italy to their settling in the United States. The families hail from the small village of Rocca Canavese, which sits just north of Torino in the upper valley of the Malone. Generations of ancestors lived in this small town, most of them farmers and weavers. In the late 1800's, some of them began to migrate to America. The Pagliero family settled near the mines in and around Clinton, Indiana, in the part of town that is known now as "Little Italy." Through primary research of Italian and United States records, the author traced these families back to the 1800's and earlier. Family stories, photographs, and documents help illustrate their lives.
