The number of bilingual learners in the US Public Schools keeps on growing. This is due to different factors such as immigration, children growing up in a multi-language home or displaced families or children. The reasons might be different for each child, but the consequences are the same. A child will still learn to be bilingual and that bilingualism will either aid or hinder them. Bilingualism is perceived as an asset, not a liability.
