History and Cultural

The interwar period, which started in 1919 and ended with the Second World War that broke out in 1939, was the period that prepared Europe and then the world to go from one world war to another. The truly unfortunate generation of this period experienced two brutal slaughters one after the other. Today we have not experienced a world war like the first two since 1945. However, most of us ask, "Is there a third world war?" There is also a concern determined by the question. Since the historian is not a fortune teller, it is not possible to find a definitive answer to this question. However, since the only mind that can predict the future lies in the past, we need to know well before the Second World War, which is close to us.
It is probably necessary to examine how the elements that created another great war were included in the peace arrangements that ended the First World War, how they affected the outbreak of the war, how other "peaceful" states could not form an effective front against the aggressor states, and the indifference of European statesmen against imminent threats and dangers. it will be interesting. However, before examining this important and lesson-filled period, it would be appropriate to see the peace-oriented elements that affected the period in general and briefly. For one thing, the injustices and injustices in the peace treaties that ended the First World War greatly shaped or at least influenced the world politics

of the years following 1919. There are glitches whose effects we see even today. Secondly, Italy's post-war disillusionment, that is, its failure to seize most of the "promised" places in secret agreements, will be the basis of this state's aggressive policy in the interwar period. In order for Italy to expand in Europe, it had to act together with England and France, and to expand in Africa, it had to oppose these two states. This contradiction in Italian foreign policy will help in understanding the conflicts in Southern Europe and Africa. As the third, Britain's inability to maintain its pre-war "balance policy" after the war also affected international developments in Europe.
