The Peace Operations carried out by the United Nations World Organization, under the aegis of the Security Council, are one of the essential bases of its founding charter: to maintain order and peace in the world. However, major international conflicts test the military capabilities of countries in Peace Operations. Chile is no exception, its armed forces have been present in numerous missions, being MINUSTAH (United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti) between 2004 - 2006, one of its greatest challenges. It allowed to show the capacity of the Chilean armed forces and the logistic integration with other nations, understanding that security and peacekeeping in the region is fundamental for the integral development of Latin America and the Caribbean. The above is based on a national legal platform that had to be adjusted to the aforementioned period, and thus participate in future peace missions supported by a robust, democratic and in accordance with international treaties signed by Chile.
