His Perfect Bride: A Bride Ships Novel

In order to save her life, this Beauty will have to marry the Beast.

Sage Rhodes is eager to escape Manchester, England, and leave behind the pain of a broken engagement. When she's offered the job as a lady's maid to Augusta Lennox, who is traveling to Vancouver Island to visit her brother, Sage happily accepts the position.

Not so long ago, brilliant engineer Jackson Lennox faced a terrible tragedy during the building of a suspension bridge in the Fraser River Valley and becomes a recluse in his fine home in Victoria. When his sister and her beautiful lady's maid arrive on his doorstep, he's reluctant to welcome the visitors.

Organized and efficient, Sage starts to bring order not only to Jackson's home but also to his life. Even though at first they clash, the attraction between the beauty and the beast is undeniable. Still, they do their best to ignore it. But when Augusta goes missing and they're thrust into a dangerous adventure together, circumstances require them to pretend they're married.

Will the charade-and their forced proximity-change their hearts...or ruin them both forever?

Great book & sweet series! Highly recommend it!

This is a review for His Perfect Bride by Jody Hedlund, book 3 of the Bride Ships New Voyages series. This is my own opinion, as I didn't receive any compensation for reading/reviewing this book!  I really enjoyed this series a lot! You can read this book without reading the others in the series because it explains all you need to know!  I give it 5 stars, and really enjoyed it. It is good story line, with great characters, and a plot that kept me reading so much that I finished it in one day!  It begins in Manchester, England, in May, 1863, where we meet Sage Rhodes, who finds herself jilted by her fiance, decides that she desperately wants to help her family escape their hard life in England. Sage's sister Willow has emigrated to Vancouver, Canada on a bride ship, and Sage considers doing the same thing, but doesn't want to leave her family behind. She goes to several charities to try to gain passage, but the doors only close until one day when an opportunity she can't pass up falls into her lap.  That opportunity comes from Miss Augusta Lennox, a member of the aristocracy, is sailing to Vancouver Island to go visit her brother, Jackson Lennox, a rich engineer, who lives and designed his own mansion on Vancouver Island, who finds herself in need of a lady's maid, and asks Sage if she'd be willing to travel with her. Sage jumps at the chance, because that is the very place her sister now lives, and maybe she will be able to find a new beginning for her and her family, and leave her broken engagement and poverty behind, and start anew. Maybe her sister has found a home there, and maybe Sage, and eventually her family, can also start afresh there too! When they get to Vancouver Island, they show up on Augusta's brother, Jackson's doorstep, but even though he lives in a mansion, they find that his life looks to be falling to pieces after a recent tragedy where Jackson, who builds and designs roads and bridges, just had one of his bridges collapse. So, Augusta and Sage find him with his life in shambles, but they believe that they can help him turn things around, but they must work very hard, each using their love and talents to bring life and light back into Jackson's life, but will he let them?? Can he let his sister help, and does this beautiful woman she has brought with her, think she has anything that he needs; she's a lady's maid after all.   Need to read the story to find out!  I really enjoyed this series, and this story, and I highly recommend it!  It was a great story to grab a blanket, and a cup of tea, and sit and read!   I really enjoyed the relationship between Augusta and Sage, as Augusta saw Sage as a person, not just a servant, and how they developed a deep friendship. I also enjoyed how the class lines didn't dictate relationships in this story, and that love won out!  Lastly, I enjoyed learning about what happens to Willow!  Great book!!!
