An affordable, giftworthy notebook illustrated with drawings from Hilma af Klint's spiritualist circle Hilma af Klint (1862-1944) developed her painting and theories of art together with Anna Cassel, Cornelia Cederberg, Sigrid Hedman and Mathilda Nilsson, with whom she established The Five--a group devoted to the exploration of spiritual realms through meditation and séances. In trancelike states, The Five believed that they could communicate with mystic beings with names such as Amaliel, Ananda and Gregor, transcribing their messages via automatic writings and drawings. This blank-paged sketchbook is a copy of one of their books, and contains four drawings they made. The group produced 15 sketchbooks in total, which are reproduced in the Hilma af Klint catalogue raisonné volume Spiritualistic Drawings (1895-1910) , also published by Bokförlaget Stolpe.
