Social withdrawal, reclusion at home, disconnection, and self-confinement are all forms of the phenomena called "Hikikomori" in Japan, where it appeared, that concerns a growing number of youths. How to understand these new hermits, their behavior, the causes and consequences of their withdrawal? How is this withdrawal experienced by them and their families?
