Best Book I have found for the Uinta Wilderness area!

I have been backpacking the Uintas for the past 15 years. I purchased this book (revised edition) 5 years ago, and it has enhanced my experience in the backcountry. This is a very detailed book, with good mileage, and difficulty ratings and elevation info. It also has advice in planning trips and backcountry stays. I like that it has a variety of hikes. It covers many hikes that are less than two hours from the Trail Head; yet it also covers hikes that could take a week or longer if desired. The only way to improve this book, would be more pics. I found that all the info was very accurate with exception of the fishing and roads to a few of the trailheads. Some lakes that are "good" in the book, didn't seem to produce very well. But that is very subjective, and will vary from year to year. Many of the dirt roads were VERY rough even with a 4X4 truck. (some even impassable) Again, conditions will vary from year to year, so better to check with the locals prior to leaving the main road. This book is very easy to read and understand; much more than the other few Uinta books I have purchased. If anyone could do all the hikes listed in this book in their lifetime, that would be a great accomplishment! Buy this book, you won't be disappointed! It is the best Uinta book out there for serious hikers!

I have yet to find a book that has the details like this one. This book is your complete guide on fishing,trails,springs etc... This backcounty book is as enjoyable as the mountain range is beautiful. I have be packing this range for years and I promise you will not be sorry !

Must have for High Uinta hikers!

This book is priceless considering the amount of information it provides. It saved us many hours of research, and helped select a great base camp for our backpacking trek.
