The boy Joshua comes of age in a blistering conflict between the love of power and the power of love. As the precursor of the next stage of human evolution, he must confront more than the forces... This description may be from another edition of this product.
In Ireland, the Mullah waits impatiently for the moment to strike as his aid the Crone cautions him. They plot to abduct eight year old Eva Connard, a chimera of sorts as Nova sapiens. Her eighteen years old step-brother Joshua "Magician" O'Donnell vows to keep her safe. However, in spite of his efforts and that of their Uncle Hamilton O'Donnell, the Mullah abducts Eva as he wants to control the power of this new evolutionary line as some insist she is the new Messiah. Joshua tries to rescue his sibling, but his attempts prove futile. Instead of saving Eva from the "pious" Muslim cleric, he manages to rescue Elia. As they fall in love, Josh, with the help of "Unca Ham", mounts a rescue mission only to have his beloved abducted. The next generation offspring from the heroes of MONKEY TRAP make for a terrific romantic science fiction tale as the young precocious hybrid seeks a place in the world of Neanderthals while caught between ambitious modern day Lady Macbeths especially the psychopath Mullah. Although the villain is obvious early on unlike the first book, team Dennng keeps the suspense high with a strong cast starring in the middle Nova Sapiens thriller. Harriet Klausner
Quick and intriguing read

Hiding Hand, the second in a planned trilogy of science fiction novels, takes the story of the saving of the planet to the next generation. There is sufficient reference to electronic and astrophysical concepts to keep the avid sci-fi reader interested; but that's not my shtick. Lee Denning fascinates me with his speculations about the emotional and spiritual mutations (mostly positive) in the coming world. It's about time Hollywood took notice and made movies of the two published books, while anticipating the arrival of the third.
A disquieting and fascinating novel

Hiding Hand is a multi-layered story with multi-faceted characters, the second novel of a trilogy: Joshua, Lara's son, is the protagonist here and he must struggle with the darker side of himself as well as against a sinister Mullah, whose evil purpose it is to harness the power belonging to Joshua and his little sister Eva. The new characters Hessa and Elia, as well as those from the earlier book, intertwine with the wonderful images that are woven through the story like the threads of a tapestry. A Rousseau-like tiger in a magical jungle, mythology and metaphysical concepts engage one's interest on different levels. A great sequel to "Monkey Trap" and I'm definitely looking forward to the third of the trilogy!
Dazzling prose, spellbinding tale.

This is the second in what I understand is a planned science fiction trilogy by Lee Denning. The authors' engineering and military backgrounds are evidenced by details in the intricate plot and the dialog rings true. The action careens across the United States, Ireland, Asia and the Middle East. The protagonist, Joshua, has matured from the gifted youth introduced in "Monkey Trap" to continue the battle against the demonic forces, natural and supernatural, arrayed against him while struggling with his own demons and succumbing to--wouldn't you know--young love. It's a spellbinding page turner with all manner of twists and I recommend it unreservedly.
