More than I thought.

When I purchased this book I knew that it was erotica, but I didn't realize the amount of sex that was in the book. Alyssa Brooks manages to insert a plot among all the sex scenes and you get your money's worth.

At times, Elisa comes across as a bit hard and somewhat callous, until one remembers that she is still reeling from quite the sucker punch in her last relationship - one that has cost her almost everything. Knowing this, it is easier to understand why she treats Maxim as badly as she does, especially considering their past together. Maxim is a dream come true, treating Elisa with consideration and patience every step of the way, even before he realizes he wants more from her than a temporary fling. Although his mind is convinced that he doesn't want a relationship, his every action shows what his heart really wants, and that is definitely Elisa. I enjoyed my first read from Alyssa Brooks, and will recommend this to everyone who enjoys very steamy contemporary romances!
