A DEADLY BEGINNING
Compromised by the FSB, Gabriel Horn is reluctantly released by MI5. Struggling to pick up the pieces of his life he is approached by the opposition Minister of Defence, Sir Adrian Gold. Twisted with grief by the death of his only grandson in Afghanistan due to lack of equipment, Sir Adrian pays him to kill the serving Minister of Defence.

After completing the contract Sir Adrian offers him a further 40,000 to assassinate the British Prime Minister and his deputy. Horn laughs, and believing it to be a joke offers to do it for one million pounds. Sir Adrian accepts.
