Great book!

Wonderful characters, a great story that flows between today and yesterday. I read it in two days. Highly recommend.

Austria during World War ll

Such a heartful story...Never expected the turn of events in the end !! I loved every single part of it ! From the very first page to the last. The ending was so bittersweet..but perfect. The story line takes place during two time periods...1938..as Hiter is rising in Status...and back into the present day. The store is about Max and Annika..who are young..and best friends..He's from a very wealthy family..that owns the Castle that Annika and her Dad tend to..and her mother before her. The Nazis are closing in on all Max's very close Jewish friends..so he takes their precious Family heirlooms and valuables ..to keep for them..until needed as payment for passage out..or until the war ends. Max tells Annika what he's doing..to a point..the less she knows the better...But Annika will do anything for the love of her life ...Max. So when Max brings a Jewish girl to the Castle..and Asks for Annikas help..it complicates her feelings..she can see ..how much Max loves Luzia Weiss and Luzia Max... But out of pure love for Max..Annika will do anything to help him and Luzia...include hiding her..when the Nazis come to raid the Castle. PRESENT: ..Callie is content with her simple quiet life..running a bookstore with her sister..reading to groups of children..and running a blog. In an very old addition of "Bambi" she finds a cryptic list..that connects her to Annika's story ...and a strong possibility of helping her dear, dear older friend...Who's book store..her and her sister run...to her past as a very young child..during the war. This story is like a combination of modern day detective..to the drama that unfolds during the war. It celebrates human strength, and spirit, heart gripping characters ...forbidden love..and loss of family and friends. Its story telling at it's Best with rich Historical details. A story of Love..that can conquer all. Truly a unforgettable story...with a surprise ending..that gives closure to a few of the characters lives. Loved It ! I must say..there are some elements of Faith..sprinkled here and there..during terrible situations certain characters face...but nothing to say it is a book of preaching...Excellent Excellent Story !!! I would Definitely give it TEN STARS..if That were possible. !! Author is a master at her work of Story telling . Definitely looking for more by her. Give it a read ! You won't be sorry ! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❣
