In North Idaho, the growing season is short, our soil was rock, absolutely no nutrients at all. I tried raised garden beds as well, they worked a little better but I gotta tell you that the year we started building HugelKültur beds was amazing!! I ran zucchini into October, (I did have to cover some nights) but my gosh the harvest that year was amazing!! We have now moved to Wyoming and we will be starting all over with this amazing process, but it works and we can't wait to get started building another beautiful garden.
