My first young Adult read. Won't be my last.

Hex Education was a very enjoyable read from the first page to the end. I didn't want this story to end. The plot of this story kept my interest the whole time while reading this book. This story has a little bit of everything. Good witches, bad witch, spells, good friends and wonderful characters you will not forget. I would love to read more books by these two authors. This was my first Young Adult read and it won't be my last. Emily Gould & Zareen Jaffery got me wanting to read more YA and more books by them. I look forward to more books by these authors.

Grandma approves

As a critical reader I enjoyed Hex Education; good story, told well. As Emily's grandmother I was of course keen to approve it. On the other hand, a book about teenagers isn't my usual choice to read.

Witchy fun ...

Sophie Stone has just been ripped away from all her friends and the only home she's ever known to live in Mythic, Massachusetts. It's just as creepy as it sounds. Things aren't looking good for Sophie being in a new town without any friends. Plus, weird things have been happening that Sophie tries to ignore. I knew just by looking at the cute cover design that I'd like this book. It was really cute and I hope to see this turn into a series or have a sequel.

Witty, Witchy Fun with newly powerful teen witch Sophie Stone

Hex Education is a fun, fast, witty read set in Mythic, Massachusetts (think Salem), where a new teen generation of witches has to band together to save their town and fight back against the bitchy Queen Bee. Sophie Stone, daughter of horror filmmaker Spooky Stone, at first just wishes she were back in LA, until she realizes that her witchy powers can not only grant her with new clothes but also the ability to vanquish her enemies. For a girl who's always tried to escape the occult and her parents' obsession with it, this is a big leap, but her fashionable new friends are there to rescue their school and town alongside her. With the help of a teacher witch, she and her new clique figure out the clues a special book provides them, though their powers don't make them perfectly psychic. I'm an adult reader, too, and got totally caught up in Sophie's story and couldn't wait to find out who the evildoer was--and if she'd wind up with hottie Linc (love that crazy name!) in the end. You'll have to read it to find out!

Magically Entertaining - A MUST READ!

I had so much fun reading this book. The dialogue is wickedly sharp and funny. Perfect for summer reading for teens and tweens (actually perfect for hip twenty-something adults too, like me.) It just came out but I've already finished reading it because I could not put it down. You will LOVE this book. I want more, Emily & Zareen! I hope there's a series!
