Here Comes The Bathtime Fun

Here Come the Rubbadubbers is a book written for children in the toddler age group and it features many different characters such as Tubb the Frog, Finbar the Mighty Shark, and others who love the bathtub and all the fun associated with taking a bath. This board book gets a child's imagination going and will likely result in him/her wanting to head to the bathtub for some silly fun. This book has one unique feature that sets it apart from most other children's books, and that is the window on each page. This window is cut through the bottom section of each of the board pages, with some of the windows also including a plastic covering, with or without one of the book's characters on the plastic. This visual stimulation will certainly get children's attention and depending on a child's age, they will likely want to touch the plastic covering in the window and the characters on the plastic. This book doesn't really have a plot. Each of the book's pages introduces a different character and then explains what that character likes to do while in the bathtub. The images and the words are creative, but they do not form the basis of any type of story. The book ends by reminding the young reader that It's Bathtime!, but there is no actual plot and the book's pattern of introductions of characters and what they like to do could easily be carried on indefinitely. The illustrations in this book are unique. They feature a combination of drawings and small images of characters that look like mini- photographs of actual toys. This gives the book a more realistic feel and children may even notice that some of the characters look just like the toys they like to play with while taking a bath. Most kids do not hesitate to take a bath, but Here Come the Rubbadubbers is a book likely to make youngsters want to jump in the tub for some simple fun. It's a good book for the imagination it encourages and it could also be useful for the child who resists his/her routine romp in the tub. One read though this book and even the most resistant child will be ready for a bath and all the fun that comes with it.
