Herb Spice and Tonic Shop

1910 was a time of change for America detailed with a rich cultural history that was still developing. The south was still overcoming its problems with the reformation of former slaves and dealing with race relations on several levels. Louisville Kentucky was no different. Milton Douglas, a church Deacon, owns the Herb, Spice, and Tonic shop in downtown Louisville. He closes the shop every day to abuse his teenage Negro store clerk Jannie Briar. Coven McKendon, from Canada, who's visiting his aunt and Uncle, finds out about the abuse and tries to expose Mr. Douglas. However, Cove is an outsider, Jannie is a Negro girl, and they are in a southern state where neither one has any rights. What do they do to stop the abuse?
