Her Technicolor War-a full length action novel approximately 365 pages. Karen did not see the face of the man who shot her. He was a dark figure, looming over her, one side of his body illuminated by the orange glow of the burning hospital. She saw him raise one arm and bright explosions roared from his pistol. Then came the searing pain as the bullets tore through her body. Altmann did not stop pulling the trigger until he heard the empty Sauer H click twice. Suddenly feeling exhausted, on stiff legs, he stumbled down the hill towards the heat and light. A short distance from the inferno he found his friend, wounded and unconscious. He turned and looked despairingly into the hellish flames. In an instant, resolve replaced anguish. Racing behind the burning building, in a few moments he returned with a glass syringe filled with a dark, bloody liquid. Altmann quietly approached his best friend, knelt, unbuttoned the wounded man's shirt, and with one smooth motion injected the deadly Ebola virus. The Office of Strategic Services, the wartime forerunner of the CIA, sent Karen Sommerhauser to Africa to stop Doctor Altmann. She failed. As she lay recovering from her wounds, she swore to never give up the hunt for the Nazi doctor. On a duty assignment in Los Angeles, she finds a surprising ally in a newlywed teenager and aspiring actress named Norma Jeane Dougherty. Karen and Norma Jeane-better known as Marilyn Monroe, become fast friends. Together, they won't be stopped. The action races across four continents and ends with the sound of gunfire echoing through the Hollywood Hills. Her Technicolor War is an espionage thriller set in the defining days of the past century. It is a fast paced, action/adventure saga, but it is also a tale of friendship, love, and loss. Author's Note-The historical framework of this book is generally true. The world events these characters experience are accurate for the 1940s. Karen Sommerhauser is a fictional character, but many women in the OSS and early CIA served as her model. Likewise with Dr. Altmann, several Nazi war criminals were studied to create his character. Marilyn Monroe's persona in the book is fictional, but I remained accurate to the biographical facts of her life. Reader Comments- "From the beginning, I found it so hard to put down." "...an excellent job of taking the reader back to the times of WWII and weaving a fictional story into events that actually happened." "I stayed up until 1:30AM to finish it, and I never do that!" "...this book held my interest from page one and I really enjoyed the twist at the end." "Buy it now-you'll like it!!!!."
