He likes her. She hates him. The puppy loves them both. Every morning, three-month-old Scottish sheepdog Henry escapes Netherfield Park and scampers straight to Longbourn-specifically to Elizabeth Bennet's arms. Every morning, Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy must retrieve his errant puppy from the woman he insulted at their first meeting. As Henry's daily escapes continue, forced proximity chips away at Elizabeth's prejudice and Darcy's pride. Then danger threatens Henry, pushing them to work together to protect the puppy who has somehow become theirs. Through cranky encounters and blooming affection, they discover that sometimes the best matchmaker has four paws and a wagging tail. A warm, funny variation of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, perfect for readers who love puppy matchmakers, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and utterly romantic comedy.
This was a really sweet story and I loved Mr. Darcy's puppy Henry. I enjoyed reading about Elizabeth and Darcy becoming friends and when she stood up to him and pointed out how rude he had been. I look forward to reading more by this author in the future.
