A good place to start if you wonder if you can teach poetry

I have little experience with poetry - it intimidates me. This book was suberb at easing my fears and showing a new kind of poetry. It has given me confidence to teach poetry to my children (I home school and felt poetry was a weak part of our program). I was at first a little disappointed that there were so many poems; I wanted more hard instruction. I came to see that the poems were an essential part of learning, they are instruction. They made me laugh and cry and begin to write my own poems. I did notice one student poem that is actually copywrited by an adult author in another book. I think this student pulled a fast one on the author by passing this work as his own. However, the overall quality of the book is good.
