Addie Ann is a young girl who lives next to a church. She loves to talk and ask questions; that's how she learns things She often takes her doll, Chatty, and her dog, Poochie, over to the churchyard to play. While there, she sometimes hears the minister practicing his sermons. One day Addie Ann hears the minister say, "God can use each one of you. He wants to use you. He has given to each of you your own individual talents and skills." Addie Ann decides to ask him whether God can use her; she doesn't believe she has lots of talents. The minister tells her that God made each person special and that she can watch and wait to use the gifts God has given to her. When Addie Ann goes to school the next day, she has the chance to help out several of her friends-and now she knows she has learned the lesson that the minister was teaching. In this children's story, a girl learns a valuable lesson about how she can use her gifts for God by being kind and gentle and loving others.
