A humorous and touching coming of age novel. Three young black men during their freshman year in college find out that school isn't just fun and games-- there's far more to higher learning, and to... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Tracy Grant's HELLIFIED is a fabulous coming of age piece. There's enough going on with DJ Troy, Ill Will, the Black Student Union and their freshman adventures to keep you captivated. The two semester story and fast pace make this a great read. The DC backdrop with students partying and hitting the books, along with the frat brother scenes, are wonderful. Tracy Grant gives us a look at young black men who are far from stereotypical. Put this author up there with "The Best Man" and "The Brothers," this would make a great movie. I can't wait for the next book.
This is a fabulous, gripping novel.

Hellified is a wild ride just as the title implies, exposing us to the world of some wacky college freshmen. The story is wonderful in that it puts you right on campus with the three main characters, DJ Troy, Randy and Ill Will. Many of their exploits are typical of 18 year-olds, but the story will have you cracking up. It is well-written with a wonderful blend of the '80s, Hip Hop music and Washington D.C. for a backdrop. Kudos to Tracy Grant for a great debut. I'm looking forward to the next one!
Enjoy the ride!
