Hedy Lamarr's life was punctuated by salacious rumors and public scandal, but it was her stunning looks and classic Hollywood glamour that continuously captivated audiences. Born Hedwig Kiesler, she escaped an unhappy marriage with arms dealer Fritz Mandl in Austria to try her luck in Hollywood, where her striking appearance made her a screen legend. Her notorious nude role in the erotic Czech film Ecstasy (1933), as well as her work with Cecil B. DeMille (Samson and Delilah, 1949), Walter Wange
I was first introduced to Hedy Lamarr through Her movies. It was 1970, I was home on leave from the USMC and it was a late night broadcast of "The Strange Woman" (circa 1946) All I can say is; I was spellbound. Billed as the most beautiful girl in the world at that time, and She was. When I got discharged from the corps in 1974 I made it my business to see what other movies She made. I eventually purchased a total of 15 of Her Best in my opinion out of the 31 or so She starred in over the last 20 years or so. Hedy was as energetic as She was stubborn. A very cautious woman who was married 6 times. In Her words She never wanted to be recognized for Her beauty, instead while She was in Hollywood She only wanted to be taken seriously. She was the 1st woman to be filmed in total nudity in the film "ECSTASY" (circa 1933) I must say I found this to be very artistic and well thought out for the times. There is so much more to say, but if I reveal everything it would spoil the experience for you. I will leave you with this one thought though; You will not be sorry you bought this book and the time you spent reading it either.

P.S. In my opinion Hedy was mis-understood and ahead of Her time.
